The Abbott CELL-DYN 3700 is a multi-parameter, automated hematology analyzer developed for in vitro diagnostic use in clinical laboratories. Designed with its analyzer as the central unit, the CELL-DYN 3700 analyzer aspirates and dilutes whole blood specimens, transports and analyzes the prepared dilutions, and rinses fluidic components in preparation for the next specimen. The hematology analyzer generates hematologic measurements on EDTA-anticoagulated whole blood including WBC, NEU, LYM, MONO, EOS, BASO, RBC and HGB.
The CELL-DYN 3700 incorporates proven electronic impedance with high-resolution flow cytometry. This marriage of complementary technologies provides accurate results, even in the presence of abnormal pathology. The CELL-DYN 3700 easily handles problematic specimens, such as those with nucleated red blood cells, platelet clumps, and/or resistant red blood cells.
The CELL-DYN 3700 is exceptionally reliable, its low-maintenance system utilizes minimal tubing, electronic solenoids, and no stand-alone pneumatic modules. An online diagnostic program continuously monitors vacuum, pressure and voltages, helping to prevent system failures by automatically notifying the operator when corrective action is required. The proven technology of the CELL-DYN 3700 offers more analytical power for more reportable results with less review.
The proprietary Multi-Angle-Polarized-Scatter-Separation (M.A.P.S.S.) technology accurately identifies five white-cell sub-populations in their true native state, without the use of fixatives or cyto-stains. The extended linear ranges and onboard reticulocyte analysis will help reduce the number of manual procedures. Specimens with immature granulocytes, variant lymphocytes, blasts and other immature or abnormal cells are flagged for review.
